Muktinath is a pilgrimage place for both Buddhist and Hindu. The Holy shrine at Muktinath is in a grove of trees and includes a Buddhist Gompa and Pagoda style temple of Vishnu Temple containing an image of Lord Vishnu. The Hindus call it Muktichhetra ( place of salvation ) is one of the four religious sites. Many Shaligrams found here are considered by Hindu as incarnation of Lord Vishnu and worship them.
Rotary Club of Narayangarh has organized 5 day's Religious tour to Muktinath titled " CROSS HIMALAYA ROTA TOUR " on 11-15 April, 2017. Rota Tour group has joined with Pushpanjali Bachat Tatha Rin Sahakari Sanstha group ( Total 62 members ) and started the journey on 11th April in the early morning by 5:00 AM from Narayangarh by bus travelling 126 KM and reached Pokhara, Kaski. After taking lunch, group leaved for Muktinath at 3:30 PM by 10 small 4WD vehicles and reached Lete, Mustang by travelling 126 KM at 10:00 PM crossing Beni Bazar and road side small villages like Galeshwor, Tatopani, Biplang, Suke Bagar, Dana, Kopchepani, Ghasa, Kalopani, Larjung etc.
